Quite simply, COBI = careers. Throughout each business student’s collegiate journey, COBI's Business Career Programs office provides the workshops, career fairs, connections and more to enable 93 percent of (2015 and 2016) COBI graduates to have jobs in their chosen fields shortly after graduation. The job placement rate of our sales students is virtually 100 percent.
Our superb educational product and the amazing job placement rates are among the reasons Bloomberg Businessweek has, since 2016, ranked UT COBI in its top 100 best undergraduate business schools in the nation. Our engaged faculty, high-tech facilities and a growing international reputation also contribute to COBI having a record-high enrollment of nearly 2,900 undergraduate students and 450 graduate students in 2017.
Your support of the UT College of Business and Innovation through The University of Toledo’s Day of Giving can have an immediate and lasting impact, especially when your gift goes to one of these two critical funds that support students: COBI’s Scholarship Fund and the COBI Progress Fund.
2402266 - College of Business and Innovation General Scholarship Fund
COBI has long declared its mission is “Developing Lifelong Leaders for the World of Business.” We strive to exceed our mission as COBI continuously develops lifelong leaders in all facets of today’s world.
For hundreds of students, that life-changing reality can begin only if supported by scholarships. The need is great: some 500 students apply for COBI scholarships each year, with COBI annually awarding approximately $300,000 to help students achieve their dreams.
2400089 - College of Business and Innovation Progress Fund
The COBI Progress Fund is a significant source of funds to support students, faculty and the regional community. This support addresses a variety of important projects and activities, including:
Travel, registration and participation in national leadership conferences and competitions by our students, who belong to 13 professional student organizations within COBI.
Job fairs. COBI’s remarkable and sustained 93 percent job placement rate does not just happen. Productive relationships are maintained and enhanced throughout the year with hundreds of companies whose representatives know they will find the talent they need during our semi-annual job fairs.
Student and community outreach activities, such as the Jones Leadership Academy, Young Executive Scholars (Y.E.S.) and be-WISE-er event, and important multi-cultural events, such as the UT Indian Students Cultural Organization DIYA celebration.
Faculty research. The COBI faculty is intensely engaged in both research and community outreach.
Professional development programs, job placements, research, community involvement and more are directly impacted by your contribution to the COBI Progress Fund.
